TITANS TODAY: OCTOBER UPDATE
October 02, 2009
The Florida weather is finally cooling off but things are still heating up as the Orlando Titans prepare for their January debut in the National Lacrosse League. Here’s the lowdown on what’s happening with the Titans…
Season Ticket Sales
Although the team’s first marketing campaign to the general public is not scheduled to kickoff until mid-October, word of mouth and the Central Florida lacrosse community continues to respond positively to the Titans. As of Friday, Oct. 2, season ticket sales have climbed past the 800 mark. The team continues to run a $69 season ticket special, which will get Titans fans a lower bowl season ticket for under $9 a game – one of the best values in professional sports. “We designated a select number of lower bowl tickets for this special and they are going fast,” team president Steve Donner says. “But we still have a few left and this is certainly an economical way for fans to get eight great nights of entertainment at a very special price.” Tickets can be purchased by calling the Titans Office at 407-601-6516.
Casey Bigger Than Life
Orlando Titans star Casey Powell will appear larger than life in October all around the Central Florida community. Powell will be featured on 25, 10’ x 25’ billboards around town beginning the third Friday of this month. The campaign, which will last approximately a month, will promote Titans season ticket sales.
Good Day, Mate!
Titans players Matt Vinc, Pat Merrill, Jordan Hall and Jarett Park will play for the East Team in an NLL All-Star Showcase, Oct. 23-24 in Melbourne, Australia. It will be the first time the land down under has hosted professional indoor lacrosse.
Titans Staff Completed
With the hiring of Beejay Yoshi as Director of Finance and Joe Rosen as a Ticket Account Executive, the Orlando Titans have now fully staffed the front office for the upcoming season. “Overall, I am extremely pleased with how we were able to put this staff together,” Donner said. “We have a great mix of lacrosse people and marketing professionals familiar with the Central Florida region.” Should growth necessitate adding Titans staff in the future, those openings will be posted on both www.orlandotitans.com and teamworkonline.com.
Training Camp Date Set
Titans Head Coach Ed Comeau has tentatively set the November 20-22 as the first weekend of training camp for the 2010 season. It will be the first time the majority of the 2010 Titans will come together since the franchise relocated from New York after the 2009 campaign. Training camp sites and practice times will be announced at a later date.
